Haven't had one of these in a while and I'm not in the mood to blog, so...

This might be one of my favorite pics ever. She looks like & is such an angel!

I think she might be 10.5 pounds now. We'll find out in a week.

My new title is stay-at-home-mommy! As of yesterday, I am dedicated 100% to my family! I am SO excited!! This new venture is definitely requiring a lot of faith. God has been and is so good to us. He has proven Himself over and over. Justin is an excellent provider. Even though this economy is not keen on landscape right now, he is working with the company's other side, Scott's LawnService. Praise God that he still has a job and is working a lot of hours!!

Now, on to the main event...Juliet is growing and developing more and more every day! She is amazing. Her new favorite thing is her "jungle gym." Juliet's legs and arms get pumping and her breathing speeds up, she gets a huge grin across her face. She loves the flashing lights and the music. Today she found Mr. Monkey and I think she's sweet on him! Thirty minutes is her about her limit (only last week she would tolerate it for 10 minutes).

Her favorite book right now is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin. She really loves the red bird. She has another toy that is a red bird and she loves following him around. She will track him and she'll also follow the mirror too! It is so fun watching her develop every day.

I've got a lot of catching up to do, so hopefully I'll be cranking out more posts this week.

Producing Good Fruit for the Lord

Juliet's CeCe, Pops and Aunt Kama gave her an apple tree. At two weeks old, the tree was planted in Juliet's honor in our front yard with both sets of grandparents, 'Aint' Leigh and her great grandparents in attendance! It was beautiful ceremony. Justin began by sharing a few thoughts from Scripture and prayed for guidance in raising Juliet. Both grandfathers and Juliet's grand grandfather also shared thoughts from Scripture and lifted up prayers on Juliet's behalf. It was really neat to hear what each grandfather wishes for his granddaughter. Pops (Justin's dad) relayed to us the blessing that children are to their families, especially Juliet to ours, and her life of service to God be a blessing to others. Granddaddy (my Dad) directed our thoughts to the responsibility our family shares in raising Juliet in the Lord and that the fruit she produces will be good fruit. Papa (my grandfather) talked about the great promise a tree has in bearing much fruit and his prayer that with the proper nourishment, Juliet will also bear much fruit for the Lord.

Happy One Month to Juliet!

I cannot believe my baby is one month old! Time flies and I don't like that one bit. Juliet is a precious angel and we have been blessed tremendously! She is such a great eater and sleeper. I cannot get enough of her! I love being home and caring for her. Sometimes we don't get dressed until 2 o'clock, but that's okay. We spend most of our mornings in the green chair in her nursery. We sing a lot! If she's fussy, I wrap her up, sit in the rocker, pat her bottom, and begin singing and she quiets down. She'll do the same for a vacuum cleaner, so that's not saying much for my singing! I love singing to her about God and His love for her. I am so excited about teaching her about her Creator and Savior!! Motherhood is such a wonderful experience and I thank God for it!

She turned one month old with grace and beauty. Today was her one month appointment and she is doing great. Once again, we were told she's perfect...what parent has to be told that? :) We are thrilled about her stats! Juliet weighed in at 9 lbs. 1.5 oz., 21 1/4 in. long, and her head measured 14 3/4 in.! Her weight and length are average, but her head, this girl's got a noggin'! It's in the 80th percentile! Which means (I had no idea what all that percentile stuff meant) out of 100 girls her age, her head is bigger than 80% of them. The doctor was also impressed with her muscle tone and her neck strength. She holding it up and studying everything. Just this morning, Juliet began making "real" noises instead of just squeaking and she smiled in response to me talking to her and calling her name! It was precious, even though it was at 5:30 am and she was wide awake. The only negative of the appointment was the heal prick and hepatitis shot. She did well with the heal prick, but the shot...oh, I've never seen her get so red and upset. It was so terrible. I couldn't think about why she was screaming. She settled down very well. Before we left I nursed her and then we went shopping! We went to Target and to the mall. She slept through it all. Not only was I proud of her performance, I did great on my maiden voyage! Getting her carrier out and in the buggy and even with the stroller. It was really easy. Yea!

Yesterday my dear friend Jennifer Butts and her little boy, Brock came to meet Juliet. It was a great visit. They spent the afternoon with us and Brock is full of life! He loved Juliet, in fact, he really liked kissing her. It was so funny. They were stilling side-by-side and he was kissing her cheek and decided he wanted more. He tried to get a better angle and get on top of her and get to her lips. HILARIOUS! Thank you Jennifer for coming. I loved showing Juliet off to you!!
