Juliet is 3 months today. She is learning something new everyday; it is so wonderful to see her discover the world around her. Today, in addition to finally getting a smile on camera, she found her feet! I knew it was just around the corner, she's been bringing her feet up. Tonight they made contact with her hands!
This past month has also brought on many sounds. Last Saturday when I was putting on my makeup in the bathroom, I heard a baby I had never heard before! She squealed so loud! Since then, she's really been getting vocal. Her favorite is pursing her lips, flaring her nostrils and making cooing/bubbling sounds (with the comes a great deal of slobber). She is repeating the "oh" sound and "hi." The higher pitch my voice is the louder she will get. She slobbers a great deal. She's gnawing a lot...teething?
She loves to fram (wiggle and kick) like crazy on her jungle gym or on the changing table. Every night when she gets into her PJs, she has a long time to fram on the changing table. She kicks and pumps her legs in the air and makes a lot of noise. Her facial expressions are great. It's like she is so excited she's about to burst! Her eyebrows are raised as far as they can go and her body is so stiff and then she bursts into a kick with a huge smile and a coo. Can you tell I love it?!
Her tummy has begun to hurt her more this month too. Thankfully Mylcon works. Usually after I nurse her during the evening hours, she cries and her little tummy is so tight. Once she burps and spits up (a good bit), she's happy again. When I nursed her she would throw her shoulder back and let her arm hang behind her, now she is bending her arm, placing her hand behind her ear on her head and plays with her hair! She already started twirling her like (like me).
She experienced her first out-of-town, over night trip in Calhoun, GA this past month. We spent with weekend with Deda and Granddaddy and we were all sick! I ran a fever (felt like the flu), Justin had a sore throat and Juliet had her first runny nose. Thankfully Justin nor Juliet got as sick as I was. And thankfully we were there for my mama to take care of us! She also met Uncle Kenny, Aunt Ann, Aunt Sister and Aunt Becky for the first time. She is an excellent traveler, sleeping the entire trip!
This month also brought the first "sick" doctor's appointment. I was so sad that we had to sit on the "sick" side. I was so nervous about her getting something worse. I kept her in her seat with the shade pulled over her and I didn't touch anything! Her runny nose wasn't getting any better and her left eye was matted in the a.m. I called the nurse and told her the symptoms and she wanted us to come on in. Juliet wasn't running a fever or being fussy. They determined it was an eye cold and drops were the only thing she needed. This was also the first time she tee-teed in my lap. I was talking to the doc and my leg suddenly became so warm! Ack!
While we were there I asked if we could weigh her before we left. She weighs 11 lbs. 10 oz.! I can't believe it. Justin and I have noticed, just this week, that she is filling out. Her face is not quite as skinny. And she's growing out of some of her clothes.
The day after her 2nd month birthday, she slept through the night. That has been going very well. Our routine is to swaddle her, pop the passy in, hold her close to our chest and either rock or sway her and pat her bottom. It does the trick, especially the passy. Her eyes get so drowsy. If the passy isn't in, she can fight off sleep pretty good. Especially if she on our shoulder, she'll rub her face to stay awake. Just this week she's begun to rub her eyes...so cute. If we put her down around 8, she'll wake up around 3 or 4, so we prefer later. Nine, ten, eleven, she'll wake up around 5:30-7. She's still sleeping in her pack-n-play in our room, but that's because of me. I don't want her to leave yet...She'll nap anywhere, in her crib or on our bed. Many times she'll tire herself out playing and will fall asleep on her own! She has us more on a schedule than we do her. She eats about every 3 hours, plays and sleeps for 30 minutes or in the afternoon, she'll take 1 1/2 hour nap!
This past month has been so fun. I've been following some child development blogs and I love learning new techniques and games I can play with her. We sing a lot, read Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See, Dr. Seuss's ABC and a few others every day. We talk and make sounds. We have a lot of fun and I love staying home with her.
Justin is an amazing father and provider. I am so thankful and grateful for all the hard work he does for our family. I am truly blessed!!

I can definitely tell she's packin' on the pounds! She is so beautiful--like her mommy--and these little dresses are beautiful!
Love you and think of you daily.
